25 Jul Celebrities in St Tropez
While most A-List destinations go out of fashion faster than most mortals can stick their Louboutins into their oversize Louis Vuitton, there’s comfort in knowing that St Tropez never goes out of style. Since the 1950s, the rich and famous have flocked to this Cote d’Azur favourite each summer. The South of France’s most exclusive destination has played host to countless icons over the years from Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve to the Beckhams, Kate Moss, Elton John and Roberto Cavalli, whose technicolour boat is moored there during summer to host the A-list parties.
Never out of the top 10 celebrity destinations, 2014 has been no different, with the usual chic jet-set crew decorating the French Riviera. Joining them this year are celebrity friends Elen Rivas, Lizzie Cundy and Alex Silver.
Eschewing the obvious accommodation options along the waterfront, Rivas (pictured above right, with Cundy, left) and friends have chosen the seclusion of private luxury villa, Villa Tropez, for their getaway. Their good friend Meg Matthews, who was due to join them along with daughter Anaïs Gallager, but couldn’t due to work commitments, has previously stayed at Villa Tropez.
Matthews isn’t the only one to have been seduced by the charm of this hideaway in true Provence – amidst the rural frescos and vineyards – yet still only minutes to the heart of St Tropez. Villa Tropez is fast becoming a go-to for well-known celebrities in St Tropez seeking seclusion as well as for film units seeking locations. The villa has previously hosted the cast of Made In Chelsea, who raved about the villa: “Incredible views. Incredible pool. Incredible service. Guys, if you’re not staying here when in St Tropez, you’re missing out.”
